ViralGenHub 如何將 TikTok 拒批的內部排程工具改為公開產品,並在 10 天後獲批
TikTok rejected our scheduler as "internal use", so we made it a real product. Approved 10 days later.
In October 2026 we applied for TikTok's Content Posting API for a scheduling tool we used for our own small media brands. TikTok rejected it on 12 October: tools for personal or internal company use are not eligible, and the site said "not open for public sign-up".
We had two options: give up on TikTok scheduling, or build a product anyone can use. We picked the second. Ten days later, on 22 October, TikTok approved it.
What ViralGenHub is
A social media scheduler with a calendar, per-platform previews, a media library, saved templates (Sets) and Signatures. Platforms available today: TikTok, Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn (profiles), Tumblr, Discord, Slack, Telegram, Kick, Dribbble, WordPress, Listmonk, dev.to, Nostr and Lemmy. Facebook Pages, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, LinkedIn Pages and X (Twitter) are rolling out as each platform finishes reviewing us. The platform badges on the website are generated from the same list the app uses, so we cannot accidentally advertise something that is not connectable yet.
It is an AGPL-3.0 fork of Postiz. We credit Postiz in the footer and link the modified source from the app. The fork is small on purpose: a rebuilt TikTok composer, branding, plans, and the third-party trackers removed. A monthly job rebases on upstream.
What TikTok actually wanted
The rejection was about who the tool was for, but the review also checks the posting UI against TikTok's Content Sharing Guidelines, and stock Postiz failed several of those: privacy defaulted to Public, comments started on, no music declaration, no disclosure validation. We rebuilt the composer: live creator name on every open, privacy chosen by the user with no default, comment/Duet/Stitch off by default and greyed out when the creator has disabled them, the disclosure and declaration text TikTok requires, and a "may take a few minutes to appear" notice after posting. If you are applying for the same API, these are the items that matter.
Pricing (live since 24 October)
- Free: 2 channels, 20 posts a month, API and MCP with a daily cap. No card.
- Creator: £7.99 a month or £79.90 a year. 8 channels, unlimited posts, X (Twitter) posting when it is live.
- Business: £19.99 a month or £199.90 a year. 25 channels, team members with roles, RSS auto-posting, an AI assistant that drafts and schedules posts.
- Yearly plans get 2 months free. Prices in pounds, no VAT added (we are under the UK threshold). UK consumers get a one-click 14-day refund of the unused part.
Stripe handles payments. There is no free trial; nobody is charged without choosing a plan first.
What we learned
- "Private tool" is a dead end with platform reviewers. The product has to be open and the site has to be a full site, not a login page.
- Generate marketing claims from the code. Our platform badges and the headline count come from one Python list; if a platform is hidden in the app, the site says "Rolling out".
- Forking an AGPL project is fine if you do the AGPL things: keep the notices, link the source, credit the project, do not use their logo.
- UK consumer law (14-day cooling-off for digital services) is easier to implement as a button than to argue about in support email.
Where we are going
The big platforms (Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, X (Twitter)) as their reviews come back, and the platforms that need no review. The things we do not have yet are listed on the switching page: no comment inbox, no one-click import from Buffer or Hootsuite.
We are Talkiru Communications Ltd, a small UK company. Happy to answer anything about the TikTok review or running a fork as a product.
