Youngwoo DSP 第三季度營業利潤按年大增 300% 至 4.4 billion 韓元

Youngwoo DSP reported third-quarter operating profit of 4.4 billion won, up 300% from a year earlier, as revenue from robotics and smart material-handling systems expanded, the company said November 3. The quarterly operating profit exceeded the 3.6 billion won recorded in the first half of the year.

Third-quarter revenue totaled 26.7 billion won, an increase of 37.6% from a year earlier. For the first nine months, revenue reached 66.6 billion won and operating profit stood at 8.1 billion won.

The improvement was driven by higher sales of robotics and smart material-handling systems. Youngwoo DSP is expanding the equipment design, manufacturing and process automation technologies developed through its display inspection equipment business into these new areas.

In June, Youngwoo DSP signed a supply agreement with JS for robotics and smart material-handling systems. The equipment is manufactured entirely in-house, from design and assembly to production, without outsourcing.

By operating its display inspection equipment and robotics and smart material-handling businesses in parallel, the company aims to reduce its dependence on capital expenditure cycles in any single industry. It is also reviewing additional business opportunities that can leverage its existing inspection equipment technologies and process automation capabilities.

Youngwoo DSP is also pursuing a semiconductor inspection equipment business. The company aims to achieve tangible results in the segment by the end of this year.

A Youngwoo DSP official said the company would strengthen its competitiveness in display inspection equipment while developing robotics and smart material-handling systems into a stable business. The company also aims to deliver concrete results in semiconductor inspection equipment within the year.
