FindAIForMe:免費 AI 工具目錄以頁尾徽章換取 dofollow 連結,不加徽章仍可上架
I Built a Free AI Tools Directory Where a Footer Badge Buys Dofollow (Skipping It Keeps You Listed)
Most AI directories force a binary choice: pay for a slot, or hand over a permanent backlink before you get indexed. I wanted a third path for my own AI products—and for other indie tools that are still early.
So I shipped FindAIForMe: a free / freemium AI tools hub with open submissions, a public review queue, and a badge check that upgrades your official-site link from nofollow to dofollow. Skip the badge and you stay listed. That last part is the product decision I care about most as a builder.
This is how the rules work on the live site today—not a pitch deck.
Why another directory?
I needed a place to park my own tools with honest outbound SEO, then opened submissions so the catalog was not just my portfolio. The homepage leads with a Free AI tools section, then category cards (chat, image, video, coding, automation, and more). The catalog is in the ~10k+ tools range. There is also a public AI Rank board for already-trafficked AI sites (filters for category, growth, and related signals—always re-check the live page).
Acceptance on the submit form is explicit:
- In: AI-native tools, AI-enhanced SaaS, AI infrastructure (agents, vector DBs, SDKs), or products with real AI features.
- Out: traditional SaaS with no AI, ecommerce / games / content blogs, static marketing pages.
If you are shipping an AI side project, that filter is the whole point: the index stays useful instead of turning into “every SaaS with a chatbot widget.”
Free vs Basic (and the review queue)
From the live pricing page:
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0, permanent | Basic listing (name, ~200-character blurb, category, official-site link). Target review: within 30 days. Hang a FindAIForMe badge or text link → 1 dofollow outbound. No badge → listing stays, outbound stays nofollow. |
| Basic | $9.9 one-time | Permanent dofollow without a badge obligation, plus fuller placement (homepage free-tools feed / featured / category highlight—inventory coordinated after payment). |
| Ad slots | By placement | Priced separately by spot and schedule. |
Paid listings and owner / operator sites are exempt from the badge check. Free sites that have not hung a badge show a pending-badge state with embed code and a re-check control—they are not silently deleted.
The 30-day free review window is deliberate. Instant auto-approve sounds nice until the directory fills with parked domains. A short queue is the cost of keeping the catalog readable.
Submit once, then prove the site
The submit flow asks for logo URL, one-line pitch, category, and official site. After approval you get a public detail page under /tools/<slug> (for example /tools/n8n). Detail pages summarize positioning, pricing tag, category, and light selection notes. They are summaries—not substitutes for vendor docs.
Practical checklist I tell other builders:
- Confirm the product is genuinely AI-related and the official URL resolves (not a parked domain).
- Submit once via findaifor.me/submit—do not spam duplicates.
- Prefer Free if you can keep a footer badge long-term; pick Basic if you do not want a badge obligation.
- After approval, embed the badge (or a plain text link to your
/tools/<slug>page) on homepage / footer / partners. - Open My submissions → “I’ve added it—re-check” instead of waiting for the weekly crawler pass.
The badge check (the interesting bit)
The badges page generates HTML or Markdown for a “Featured on FindAIForMe” SVG. Paste your tool slug (the segment after /tools/) so the badge deep-links to your detail page with UTM tags.
Minimal HTML (empty slug → homepage):
<a href="https://findaifor.me/?utm_source=badge&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=featured"
target="_blank" title="Featured on FindAIForMe">
<img src="https://findaifor.me/badge/featured.svg"
alt="Featured on FindAIForMe" height="54" />
</a>
What the checker looks for (per the badges FAQ on-site):
- Your homepage (including footer) plus common pages such as
/aboutand/partners. - A link pointing at findaifor.me—badge image or plain text both count.
- Pass → detail page official-site link becomes dofollow. Fail → nofollow, listing remains.
- Rechecks run about weekly. Remove the link and you drop back to nofollow; you are not removed from the directory.
- After hanging the badge, trigger re-check from My submissions for a faster pass.
That is the product bet: discovery indexing stays open for free tools; dofollow juice is reserved for sites that keep a durable, verifiable referral. Hostages-or-nothing directories train people to strip badges the day after approval. Keeping unbadged free listings live (nofollow) makes the bargain feel less extractive—and still gives badge partners a clear upgrade path.
Caveats (say them out loud)
- “Free” on a card is the directory’s pricing tag, not a promise that every vendor feature is forever free—always open the official site.
- Health checks probe HTTP reachability; timeouts or access walls do not mean the product is dead.
- Model lists and screenshots on third-party tools change; FindAIForMe detail pages are summaries.
- Live pricing, review SLA, and badge FAQ win any conflict with this post.
If you want in
Browse the index or jump straight to submit:

Built by an indie for own tools first, then opened to submissions. If you run an AI product and want a directory that publishes its dofollow rules in public, that is the experiment.
