The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) said on Oct. 20 it has renewed a cybersecurity cooperation agreement with Costa Rica and discussed collaboration on post-quantum cryptography trials with Belize.
Ministerial-level delegations from Costa Rica's Ministry of Science, Innovation, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT), Belize's Ministry of Economic Transformation and the Office of the Prime Minister visited KISA on the sidelines of the Global AI and Digital Summit 2026, held in Seoul from Oct. 19 to 22.
The summit is jointly hosted by the World Bank, South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Ministry of Science and ICT.
KISA also hosted a ministerial-level delegation from Mozambique's Ministry of Communications and Digital Transformation, cybersecurity and digital officials from the Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Panama, and representatives from Mongolia's Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Communications and its data center sector.
The delegations expressed strong interest in establishing national cybersecurity response systems, operating security operations centers (SOCs), protecting critical digital infrastructure and implementing information security certification programs.
KISA said the meetings also identified opportunities for cooperation in emerging security technologies, including AI-based cyber threat response and post-quantum cryptography.
The agency plans to continue developing international cooperation projects involving cybersecurity policy exchanges, professional training and joint technology demonstrations.
"We will identify cooperation projects tailored to each country's security environment and needs, and share the technologies and experience we have accumulated with the international community to help strengthen global cybersecurity capabilities," said Oh Jin-young, head of KISA's AI Security Industry Division.
