Plenty of people are dubious about AI. Who controls it? Can we trust its answers? What happens to the things we share?
But imagine an AI that remembers your interests, gets your humour and is there for a conversation at 2am. Would you see it as a useful tool—or start to feel a friendship?
And how far could this go? Would you want AI helping with everyday decisions, keeping you company, or becoming part of your home?
For the Deaf community, what would make an AI companion worth using? The way it communicates? How well it understands Deaf culture? Or knowing exactly what happens to your conversations?
A convincing answer isn’t always a correct one. And sounding caring raises another question: does it actually understand you?
