Taihan Cable & Solution Wins 115 Billion Won High-Voltage Cable Order in Germany

Taihan Cable & Solution has secured a contract for a 380-kilovolt (kV) extra-high-voltage power grid project in Germany.
The company said in a regulatory filing on Oct. 27 that its Dutch subsidiary, Taihan Netherlands B.V., won the German 380kV power grid project on a turnkey basis. Taihan Cable & Solution signed a contract with the subsidiary to supply extra-high-voltage cables and accessories worth about 115 billion won. The contract runs through Aug. 14, 2030.
The Dutch subsidiary will oversee the overall project, including local engineering and construction, while the parent company will manufacture and supply key materials.
The 380kV rating is the highest voltage used in Germany’s underground alternating-current power grid. Taihan Cable & Solution previously won two 380kV extra-high-voltage power grid projects in Germany in January 2023.
Taihan Cable & Solution has secured more than 500 billion won in new orders this year across European markets, including Germany, Denmark and the UK. The company plans to expand business opportunities in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission and submarine cables to meet growing demand for power grid expansion and artificial intelligence (AI) data centers in Europe.
