Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) plans to provide training to strengthen artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities among employees and executives at its suppliers.

KAI said on Oct. 29 that it held a special lecture titled "Aerospace SME CEOs' AX·DX Special Lecture" on Oct. 28 in cooperation with Yonam Institute of Technology and Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL).

The event was organized to improve AI capabilities among small and medium-sized suppliers and share approaches to adopting AI in manufacturing operations. About 60 people attended, including representatives from 42 suppliers, KAI Vice President Yang Hong-seok, who heads the company's Shared Growth Cooperation Office, Yonam Institute of Technology President Ahn Seung-kwon, Korea Testing Laboratory Center Director Lee Eui-jong and Manufacturing Council Chairman Kim Tae-hyung.

Yonam Institute of Technology President Ahn Seung-kwon explained how advances in AI technology affect corporate management practices and competitiveness. Kim Beom-jun, head of the institute's AI·DX Center, presented practical AI applications and specific ways to use the technology.

Following the lecture, KAI plans to gradually expand AI training for employees and executives at its suppliers. The company will begin offering training programs for working-level employees in November.

Starting in 2027, KAI will introduce regular customized practical training courses designed for application in corporate operations. The programs will focus on aerospace parts manufacturing to improve suppliers' operational efficiency and productivity, creating a virtuous cycle that leads to higher profitability.
