HD Hyundai Robotics Unveils Intelligent Dual-Arm Robot

HD Hyundai Robotics has unveiled an intelligent dual-arm robot developed in-house.
The company said on Oct. 21 that it showcased the intelligent dual-arm robot under development at the Future Innovation Technology Expo 2026, held at EXCO in Daegu.
The physical AI-based robot features two arms and five-fingered hands, resembling the human upper body. Each arm has a payload capacity of 7 kg and a working radius of 630 mm. The robot can perform precise tasks such as grasping and moving objects in a human-like manner.
The robot was developed to overcome the limitations of conventional industrial robots, which repeatedly perform standardized tasks within confined areas. To create a model optimized for manufacturing environments, the company adopted an upper-body design focused on the working capabilities of its arms and hands.
The robot is equipped with an internally developed robot foundation model. It can recognize its surroundings and autonomously generate movements appropriate to different situations. This allows it to adapt flexibly to various environments without requiring individual programming of task sequences and positions.
HD Hyundai Robotics is collaborating with Aidin Robotics, in which it acquired an equity stake in September, to advance tactile sensor technology. The collaboration focuses on improving the working performance of the robot's arms and hands. The company also plans to expand the robot's mobility in stages, initially integrating a wheeled mobile platform and eventually developing bipedal walking capabilities.
The intelligent dual-arm robot will be deployed in bundling and assembly processes before its application is expanded to other manufacturing environments. The task intelligence developed through these applications will also be incorporated into the company's existing industrial and collaborative robot product lines.
