LG Display 與國立生態院合作保育及修復生態系統
LG Display Partners With National Institute of Ecology on Ecosystem Conservation

LG Display will work with the National Institute of Ecology to conserve and restore ecosystems around its Paju facility. The partnership will include creating and managing habitats for endangered red-crowned cranes and white-naped cranes.
LG Display said November 3 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Institute of Ecology, an agency under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, to cooperate on ecosystem conservation and restoration and prepare for natural capital disclosures.
The two organizations will share ecological information required for natural capital disclosures and provide related training and advisory services. They will also identify ecosystem conservation and restoration projects around LG Display's Paju facility. Issues identified through ecological assessments will be incorporated into actual conservation activities, with the results also reflected in sustainability disclosures.
Natural capital disclosure refers to the reporting of how corporate activities affect the natural environment and biodiversity, as well as how changes in the natural environment create financial risks and opportunities for businesses. Related disclosure standards are gaining international traction, led by the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).
LG Display plans to establish habitats for red-crowned cranes and white-naped cranes in the Civilian Control Zone (CCZ) within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), near its Paju facility. Drawing on ecological surveys and advisory services from the National Institute of Ecology, the company will also develop a more detailed biodiversity management framework for the area surrounding its facility.
The company is also applying artificial intelligence transformation (AX) to product environmental management. It has integrated artificial intelligence (AI) into life cycle assessment (LCA), which calculates carbon emissions throughout a product's life cycle, from raw material sourcing and manufacturing to transportation, use and disposal. The technology is being used to manage related data.
