The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) will host the 2026 Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) Annual General Meeting and the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) Asia-Pacific Regional Symposium at Lotte Hotel Busan from Nov. 3 to 6.

The symposium is organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and jointly hosted by KISA, APCERT and FIRST. More than 150 cybersecurity incident response experts from Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) in 20 Asia-Pacific countries and domestic and international companies are participating. The event also marks the 30th anniversary of KrCERT/CC, KISA's incident response team under its Digital Incident Response Division.

This year's theme is "Unbroken Chains: Global Resilience for a Trusted Future." The event aims to strengthen cross-border cooperation as cybersecurity incidents increasingly affect multiple sectors and regions.

The APCERT Annual General Meeting and annual conference will take place Nov. 3 and 4. At the conference, Kim Myung-joo, president of the AI Safety Institute (AISI), will deliver a presentation on "The AI Safety Ecosystem and AI Security." A joint incident response exercise will also be held on the same day.

On Nov. 5, APCERT and FIRST will jointly hold their Asia-Pacific regional symposium. Kim Seung-joo, a professor at Korea University's Graduate School of Information Security, will speak on "National Cyber Resilience." KISA will also share its experience in public-private cooperation and its incident response framework. Participants will examine the effectiveness and limitations of international cooperation and national-level cyber resilience initiatives. On the final day, Nov. 6, FIRST will conduct security practitioner training.

The two keynote speeches will focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and international cooperation.

As AI is increasingly being used in both cyberattacks and defense, the incident response landscape is changing rapidly, making cooperation among national CERTs increasingly important.
