LS Electric 擴大 HVDC 業務，瞄準能源高速公路項目

LS Electric will showcase next-generation power grid technologies, including high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission and power infrastructure for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.

LS Electric said Oct. 28 that it will participate in Bitgaram International Exposition of Electric Power Technology (BIXPO) 2026, scheduled for Nov. 4–6 at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju.

The company will operate a 108-square-meter exhibition booth featuring HVDC technology, AI data center power solutions, a static synchronous compensator (E-STATCOM) and its energy management system (K-EMS).

HVDC will be a key focus of the exhibition. The technology converts large amounts of electricity into direct current for long-distance transmission. Drawing on its experience building HVDC converter facilities for the North Dangjin–Godeok project and participating in the East Coast–Seoul Metropolitan Area HVDC project, LS Electric is pursuing the supply of converter transformers (C-TRs) for national power grid projects, including the West Coast Energy Highway.

For AI data centers, the company will introduce conventional alternating current power supply systems and next-generation 800V direct current distribution technology. It will also display E-STATCOM, which maintains stable voltage despite fluctuations in power loads, and K-EMS, a system for operating large-scale power grids.

“We will strengthen the competitiveness of domestically developed HVDC technology based on our experience executing HVDC projects in South Korea and our accumulated technical expertise,” an LS Electric official said.
