為何 staging 網站的意見回饋流程完全失效,以及 Tweak 如何用 DOM script tag 修復

Why staging site feedback is completely broken (and how we fixed it with a DOM script tag)

Tweak

Every web developer knows this exact cycle:

  1. You spend 3 weeks building a clean, responsive staging site.
  2. You send the staging URL to the client or project manager.
  3. The "feedback chaos" immediately begins:
    • A cropped screenshot in Slack with an arrow pointing to "somewhere near the navbar".
    • A 4-minute Loom video describing edits across 3 screen sizes.
    • A conflicting email thread from multiple stakeholders asking for "just one small change".

The worst part isn't making the fix—it's spending 20 minutes trying to reproduce the exact element context, browser resolution, and URL they were looking at.

The Experiment: Zero-Login DOM Anchoring

Instead of forcing non-technical clients to create accounts, download browser extensions, or record videos, we built Tweak around a simple idea:

What if giving feedback was as simple as clicking directly on the DOM element and typing a note?

We designed a lightweight JavaScript snippet that loads onto the staging site header.

Here is how the workflow operates:

  1. Client interaction: The client opens the staging link, clicks any element on the screen, and leaves a comment.
  2. Context capturing: The script automatically attaches the exact element selector, viewport size, and page state.
  3. Developer resolution: The issue routes into an issue hub (or directly into Cursor/Claude via our MCP server) so developers can fix it without back-and-forth messaging.

We also added an optional request counter (e.g., 7 / 10 requests used) to visually prevent scope creep during monthly client retainers.

We'd love your feedback!

We are currently offering free concierge setup on active projects for developers and agencies who want to test this on a live client staging link.

I'm curious to hear from the community:

  1. How do you currently handle client revision rounds without losing your sanity?
  2. Do you enforce strict revision limits in your contracts, or do you handle "one more small fix" on the fly?
