Gaon Cable, a subsidiary of LS Cable & System, posted record earnings in the third quarter, with operating profit nearly doubling from a year earlier.

Gaon Cable said on Oct. 19 that preliminary consolidated revenue for the third quarter reached 986.5 billion won, while operating profit totaled 52 billion won. The figures represented year-on-year increases of 51.9% and 99.1%, respectively.

Cumulative revenue for the first nine months of 2026 reached 2.6194 trillion won, with operating profit of 116 billion won. Both figures surpassed the company’s full-year results for 2025, when revenue totaled 2.5457 trillion won and operating profit stood at 79.2 billion won.

Growth was driven by increased investment in US AI data centers, renewable energy and power grids. A shortage of power cables in the US market boosted Gaon Cable’s distribution cable exports, while higher sales of value-added products improved profitability.

LSCUS, Gaon Cable’s US manufacturing subsidiary, is working with LS Cable & System to supply bus ducts to AI data centers operated by major US technology companies. Bus ducts are power distribution systems that use conductors enclosed in metal housings to deliver large amounts of electricity.

LSCUS is also expanding cable supplies for AI data centers and solar power facilities. Gaon Cable expects LSCUS’s annual revenue to roughly double from 2025.

“We will continue improving profitability through increased exports from our headquarters and the growth of LSCUS,” a Gaon Cable official said.
