Apple 推出搭載 M6 晶片的新款 iMac 及入門級 MacBook Pro

Apple launched a 24-inch iMac and an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with its M6 chip, keeping prices at $1,499 and $1,999. Both look like the old models, add Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and ship on 6 November. Apple’s event on Wednesday is expected to bring a touchscreen MacBook Pro.

Apple has put its M6 chip into a new 24-inch iMac and an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro, Bloomberg reported. The iMac starts at $1,499 and the MacBook Pro at $1,999, the same prices as the models they replace. That is despite Apple warning of price rises in June as memory costs jumped.

Both look like their predecessors, and most of the changes are inside. The M6 first appeared in the Mac mini in September. The iMac moves up from an M4 chip, while the MacBook Pro got the M5 last year.

Apple said the M6 makes the iMac five times faster at AI tasks than the 2024 model. It said the new MacBook Pro has 30% faster graphics than the one it replaces.

Both machines get Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and the laptop charges faster. Pre-orders open on Wednesday, and both arrive from 6 November, the same day as Apple’s new OLED iPad mini.

Apple still sells the more powerful MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Apple is skipping high-end M6 chips and will bring Pro and Max versions with the M7 in 2027. At its event on Wednesday, Apple will show its first MacBook Pro with a touch screen, Bloomberg reports.

That model is set to be lighter and slightly thinner, with slimmer borders and an OLED display, according to Bloomberg. The launches are part of a wider Mac overhaul, with a new MacBook Air and MacBook Neo planned for the first half of 2027.
