Raon Robotics has broken ground on a new factory with an investment of approximately 60 billion won. The facility will be three times the size of its existing operations.

Raon Robotics announced on Oct. 23 that it had held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Yongin factory at the Second Yongin Techno Valley in Gyeonggi Province on Oct. 20. CEO Kim Kyung-won and other company executives attended the ceremony.

The new factory will occupy a site of approximately 4,500 square meters, with a total floor area of about 23,861 square meters. The building will have one basement level and seven above-ground floors. It will be three times the size of the company’s existing facility in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. Production, research and office facilities will be integrated at a single location. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2027, with the headquarters and production facilities set to relocate in early 2028.

In August, Raon Robotics disclosed plans to invest approximately 27.4 billion won in the new factory, equivalent to 76.6% of its equity. “The 27.4 billion won covers only the land acquisition cost,” a company official explained. “Including all funds required for the building and system installation, the total investment is approximately 60 billion won.”

The company plans to finance the project through existing cash reserves and borrowings from financial institutions. As of the first half of 2026, Raon Robotics held approximately 8.5 billion won in cash and cash equivalents.

Yongin is being developed as a semiconductor cluster. At the new factory, Raon Robotics will supply customers with wafer transfer robots and other products while providing technical support. Its major customers include Samsung Electronics and SK hynix.

“We will use the new factory as a springboard to become a top-tier global robotics company,” CEO Kim said.
