Most AI tools today work the exact same way:

You ask a question.
The AI gives you the complete, polished answer.
You copy and paste it.
And ten minutes later, you have no idea how it was actually solved.

It feels like productivity, but it\'s really just outsourcing your own brain. When an AI solves everything for you, you never build intuition, you never spot your mistakes, and you don\'t actually learn.

We wanted something different. So we built Guidey, and we just open-sourced it.

The Big Problem With \'AI Tutors\'

If you sit down with a great teacher, they don\'t immediately take the pencil out of your hand and write down the solution.

They ask you questions:

\'Where did you get stuck?\'
\'What do you think the next step should be?\'
\'Look at step 3 again. Does that match what we did earlier?\'

That back-and-forth is how real learning happens. It forces you to think, test your assumptions, and connect the dots yourself.

Almost every \'AI tutor\' on the market today is just a standard chatbot wrapper that dumps paragraphs of text onto your screen. It acts like a cheat sheet, not a tutor.

What Guidey Does Instead

Guidey is built around a simple idea: guide the learner without spoiling the answer.

Step-by-step hints: Instead of blurting out the solution, Guidey checks where you\'re confused and gives you a small push in the right direction.
Interactive back-and-forth: It asks you follow-up questions to see if you actually understand the concept or if you\'re just guessing.
Patience: You can ask as many questions as you want, try multiple times, and work through problems at your own speed.

It\'s simple, practical, and actually helps you understand what you\'re working on.
