印度非程式設計者如何用 30 天學習 AI 工具

How I'd Learn AI Tools in 30 Days as a Non-Coder in India

If you don't write code, the AI conversation online can feel like it isn't for you. Most tutorials assume you know Python, APIs or at least what a "token" is. But the people I meet in Indore — shop owners, real-estate agents, teachers, students in their final year — don't need to build models. They need to use AI tools well, in the language they think in, for the work they already do.

This is the 30-day plan I would follow if I were starting from zero today. It costs nothing except about 45 minutes a day, and every step works in Hindi, English or a mix of both.

Week 1: Learn to talk to one assistant properly

Pick one chat assistant (ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude — the free tier is enough) and stay with it for the whole week. Jumping between tools is the most common way beginners waste their first month.

Daily practice:

  • Day 1–2: Ask it to explain something from your own work. "Mujhe GST invoice ka format simple Hindi mein samjhao" is a perfectly good first prompt. Notice that you can reply "aur simple karo" or "example do" — the follow-up is where the value is.
  • Day 3–4: Learn the four-part prompt: role, task, context, format. For example: "You are a property consultant. Write a WhatsApp message for a buyer who visited a 2BHK last Sunday. Keep it polite, under 60 words, in Hinglish."
  • Day 5–7: Practise checking answers. Ask the assistant for its sources, then open them. AI tools can sound confident and still be wrong, especially about laws, prices and dates. Building this habit early protects you later.

Week 2: Use AI on real tasks you already do

The goal this week is to save time on work that is already on your plate.

  • Draft emails and WhatsApp replies, then edit them in your own voice.
  • Turn a messy voice note or meeting notes into a clean to-do list.
  • Summarise a long PDF (a circular, a project brochure, a syllabus) into five bullet points.
  • Make a simple table: ask the assistant to organise customer enquiries by name, need, budget range and follow-up date.

Keep a small notebook (paper or Google Doc) with every prompt that worked well. By the end of the week you will have your own prompt library, which is worth more than any course certificate.

Week 3: Add one tool for images, one for documents

Now branch out — but only one step at a time.

  • Images: Try Canva's AI features or a free image generator to make a social post or a simple poster. Write the prompt in plain words: what is in the picture, the style, the colours, the text on it.
  • Documents and sheets: Use the AI built into Google Docs/Sheets or paste data into your assistant and ask for formulas. "Is column mein duplicate phone numbers kaise hataun?" is a real problem AI solves in seconds.
  • Voice: Most assistants now accept voice input. If typing in Hindi is slow for you, speak your prompt.

Week 4: Build one small workflow and share it

In the last week, connect what you have learned into one repeatable process. A few examples that work for non-coders:

  1. Lead follow-up: enquiry comes in → you paste details into the assistant → it drafts a reply and a follow-up reminder → you send it.
  2. Content routine: one topic a day → assistant writes a short post in Hindi and English → you edit and publish.
  3. Study helper: paste a chapter → ask for ten practice questions → answer them → ask the assistant to check your answers.

Then teach it to one person — a colleague, a sibling, a friend. Explaining a workflow is the fastest way to find the gaps in your own understanding.

What I would avoid

  • Paying for an expensive course before trying the free tools for a month.
  • Copy-pasting AI text without reading it. Your name is on whatever you publish or send.
  • Sharing private data (Aadhaar numbers, client phone lists, passwords) in a chat assistant.
  • Believing "AI will replace you" or "AI will make you rich overnight" headlines. It is a tool; the skill is in how you use it.

The honest takeaway

Thirty days won't make you an AI engineer, and that is not the point. It is enough to make AI a normal part of your working day — the way WhatsApp and Google Maps became normal. For most people in India that is the skill that actually matters right now.
