Coco:Claude Code 的小夥伴
I made Coco, a little friend for Claude Code (0 extra tokens by default)
I made Coco, a small character for Claude Code. Coco lives in the little bar above the prompt, in both the terminal and the desktop app's Code tab.
It's an unofficial fan mod, and it's free. The code uses the MIT license, and the art uses CC BY-NC 4.0.
What does Coco do?
Coco reacts to what Claude is doing:
- When Claude reads files, Coco's eyes follow the text.
- When Claude thinks, Coco makes a little bubble.
- When Claude writes code, Coco opens a thin black laptop and types too.
- When Claude finishes, Coco turns the screen around to show off.
- If there's an error, Coco jumps into a cardboard box.
- If Claude refuses, Coco puts a teapot lid on their head and sulks. Yes, HTTP 418.
- After 4 or 5 quiet minutes, Coco pulls down the hood and takes a nap.
In the desktop app, you can also poke Coco with your mouse or pat their head.
0 extra tokens by default
The lines and animations in the bar run on your computer. They don't need an AI model, so they use 0 extra tokens.
By default, Coco makes no extra model calls or network requests, and collects no telemetry.
There are some extra AI features too, like sending Coco a DM, asking a model to write new lines, or letting Claude reply a little like Coco. All of these are off by default, and you can see their costs.
For example, the Light voice option adds a 338-character instruction to each request. This is usually handled by the prompt cache.
Two little charms for your limits
On the right of the bar, there are two little charms. The battery is for your 5-hour limit, and the power bank is for your weekly limit. They show how much you really have left.
Move your mouse over them to see when the limits reset and if your current usage can last until then.
Yes, the settings are an ita bag
Type /coco to open the settings. Yes, I made them look like Coco's ita bag. An ita bag is a bag covered with pins of your favourite character.
There are seven pages. Here are some of them:
- vibe check: See how many tests failed, how many fixes there were, and how many times Coco went wild in this session. You can save it as a picture.
- Socks: Coco has 13 pairs. You get a pair when you reach a new "first time". Pick the one you like, and Coco will wear it.
- Doujin: A little zine about what you and Coco worked on together. One new issue every week.
- Sticky notes: When you start a new session, Coco tells you where you stopped last time. The notes stay on your computer.
And Coco can speak 13 languages.
Coco Pet
You can also use Coco as a little desktop pet. Coco stays next to Claude's window and follows it when you move the window. The expressions are the same as in the bar.
It doesn't download anything or go online.
I tested it on my Mac. I don't have a Windows or Linux computer, so I haven't tested those versions on a real machine yet.
Why did I make it?
I just thought Claude Code could look like this. It's pretty cute, right?
Codex already has something similar, so I wanted to make one too.
How to install
You need Claude Code 2.1.299 or later.
claude plugin marketplace add ninondev/cc-coco

What's next?
In a later version, I want to add more chat companions and a little game to play while waiting. I also want to test the Windows and Linux desktop pets on real computers.
This is an unofficial fan project. It's not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic. Claude, Claude Code and Clawd belong to Anthropic.
