HCLTech on October 12, 2026 announced a Global Premier Partnership with Anthropic, under which it will establish a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit and Center of Excellence and embed Claude and Claude Code into select HCLSoftware enterprise products as an Anthropic ISV partner.

Partnership Terms and Deployment Plans

The announcement, datelined Santa Clara, USA and Noida, India, states that the partnership is aimed at accelerating enterprise adoption of Agentic AI, with a focus on safety, cybersecurity and governance. HCLTech said its services teams will build industry solutions and offerings powered by Claude, Cowork and Claude Code.

According to the announcement, HCLTech will establish a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit with a Center of Excellence to build Agentic AI solutions and provide secure sandbox environments for enterprise deployments of Claude through Frontier Deployed Engineers, or FDEs. HCLTech said the unit will also help clients adopt AI-native engineering practices, train their workforces and build the organizational capabilities needed to operate Agentic AI safely at scale.

HCLSoftware becomes an Anthropic independent software vendor partner under the agreement. HCLTech said HCLSoftware will embed Claude capabilities and have access to advanced models for integration into select enterprise products spanning cybersecurity, automation, business process application and application development. The announcement names HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan among those products and states the integration will enable Actian AI analyst.

Claude Integration Into the AI Force Platform

HCLTech said it will integrate Claude and Claude Code into AI Force, its agentic software engineering platform, across IT support, code remediation and digital employee services, with those workflows supported by policy guardrails, exception handling and human oversight for high-impact changes.

HCLTech’s platform documentation describes AI Force as a GenAI and Agentic AI platform that automates and augments workflows across software and data engineering, IT operations and enterprise business processes. According to the documentation, the platform is LLM-agnostic and supports multiple commercial, open-source and proprietary models, including OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Bedrock and Phi, and it combines prompts, retrieval-augmented generation, AI agents, governance guardrails and observability in a single platform. Its modular architecture supports deployment across on-premises, hybrid cloud, private cloud, public cloud and edge environments.

Executive Statements

“AI can only be as useful as it is trustworthy, and we build Claude to give companies the confidence to bring it into their most sensitive and valuable work,” said Daniela Amodei, Co-founder and President of Anthropic, in the announcement. She said HCLTech manages those kinds of systems for banks, hospitals, telecom companies and manufacturers.

HCLTech Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director C Vijayakumar said few technology companies combine the scale of a global systems integrator with the product depth of an independent software vendor, describing that combination as a rare advantage for securely engineering and deploying Agentic AI at scale and for delivering the business outcomes that matter most to clients. He said the partnership with Anthropic further strengthens those capabilities.

The announcement describes the collaboration as building on HCLTech’s broader AI capabilities across engineering, data, cloud and software, combined with Anthropic’s stated commitment to advancing AI and safety together, and states that HCLTech will help clients move from AI experimentation to enterprise deployment safely and at scale.

Frontier Engineers and Quarterly Results

The announcement’s reference to sandbox deployments through FDEs involves the engineering role at the center of Anthropic’s Claude Frontier Academy, which Anthropic launched on October 2, 2026. Anthropic said it is committing $100 million to train 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers by the end of 2027, with engineers from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk in the first cohorts and the first Frontier Deployed Engineer badges expected in early 2027. Anthropic also said professionals across 46,000 firms have earned more than 175,000 Claude certifications, and nearly 4,000 people have completed its Basecamp program.

The partnership announcement arrived on the same day HCLTech is scheduled to disclose quarterly earnings. In its first quarter of fiscal 2027, HCLTech reported Advanced AI revenue of $171 million, up 62.1% year over year in constant currency, and new-deal bookings with a total contract value of $2,407 million, according to its investor relations page.

In an October 5, 2026 filing to BSE and the National Stock Exchange of India, HCL Technologies said it will announce its second-quarter fiscal 2027 results, covering the quarter ended September 30, 2026, on October 12, 2026 after the close of Indian stock markets, with senior management holding a 60-minute audio conference call at 7:30 p.m. IST to discuss the results.
