The National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) said on Oct. 29 that it held export consultations worth a combined 45.8 billion won in Tokyo, Japan.

NIPA hosted the Korea-Japan Digital Business Partnership event in Tokyo on Oct. 28 and 29, bringing together 37 South Korean digital technology companies.

The event featured South Korean companies specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) software, industrial AI transformation (AX), cybersecurity and other fields. Participating companies showcased their technologies and services and held one-on-one business meetings with representatives of Japanese companies.

Export-related agreements were also signed at the event. Mirrorroid, Coontec, DION IT, NPCore, Trustay and iPortfolio signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with Japanese companies.

During the event, NIPA also engaged with Japanese digital industry organizations and investment institutions to support South Korean companies’ entry into the local market. NIPA plans to expand cooperation into areas including local investment and joint commercialization.

Lim Hyung-kyu, head of NIPA’s Global Business Division, said, “Combining South Korea’s innovative digital technologies with Japan’s industrial capabilities represents an important direction for cooperation as the two countries respond to new challenges in the AI era.” He added, “We will support South Korean digital companies in securing new growth opportunities in global markets beyond Japan.”
