ETEVERS said on Oct. 26 that it participated in the 2026 Jongno District Comprehensive Emergency Rescue Drill at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in central Seoul, supporting disaster-site search and reconnaissance operations using a quadruped robot.

The exercise simulated a complex disaster in which a fire broke out during a performance, followed by a crowd crush during audience evacuation and the partial collapse of a structure. The quadruped robot was deployed to conduct an initial search and assess conditions inside the collapsed structure before rescue personnel entered.

ETEVERS supported the robot's deployment and on-site operation in accordance with the exercise scenario. The robot transmitted video footage collected during its search in real time, providing commanders with information needed to assess internal conditions and determine whether rescue personnel could safely enter.

"We reviewed the operational process to ensure that information collected by the robot could be used in emergency response, taking into account travel routes, communication conditions and video transmission methods," ETEVERS said. "Rather than simply demonstrating the robot's mobility, we focused on connecting the entire process, from searching and video sharing to the use of information by incident commanders."

ETEVERS entered the robotics business in January this year through a strategic partnership with global robotics company Boston Dynamics. The agreement gave ETEVERS official distribution and service rights for Boston Dynamics' Spot quadruped robot in South Korea. The company is pursuing robotics infrastructure projects targeting industrial safety, public-sector and defense applications.

ETEVERS also supported quadruped robot operations at a comprehensive emergency rescue and firefighting helicopter integrated command exercise in Yeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, last month.
