Gaon Cable, a subsidiary of LS Cable & System, will supply 120 billion won worth of power distribution cables for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers to a major US technology company.

Gaon Cable said on Oct. 29 that its US manufacturing subsidiary, LSCUS, will supply power distribution cables worth a total of 120 billion won to a global cloud company. The contract represents the largest power distribution cable order awarded to a South Korean supplier by a single global technology company.

The products are medium-voltage (MV) power distribution cables. They will be delivered sequentially to multiple AI data center projects in the United States from October 2026 through the first half of 2027. Gaon Cable is also discussing additional supplies with the customer.

Gaon Cable has been supplying power infrastructure products to global technology companies and US neocloud providers in cooperation with LS Cable & System. Demand for power distribution cables connecting buildings and substations is increasing as campus-style AI data centers, which combine multiple data center buildings within a single complex, become more common.

Gaon Cable is also expanding its US manufacturing capacity. LSCUS will begin operating a new power distribution cable production line in the fourth quarter of this year and plans further expansion in 2027, doubling its production capacity from the current level.

LSCUS revenue is expected to rise from approximately 440 billion won last year to about 870 billion won this year. Revenue is projected to reach 1.5 trillion won next year, more than triple last year’s level.
