Hyosung Goodsprings 將為 SKT 蔚山 AI 數據中心供應冷卻泵
Hyosung to Supply Cooling Pumps for SKT’s Ulsan AI Data Center

Hyosung Goodsprings’ sensorless inline pump (ILP 150-400), unveiled at Data Center Korea 2026 in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, held Nov. 4–6. The pump can be used in data center cooling facilities, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and industrial circulating water systems.
Hyosung Goodsprings, a pump manufacturing subsidiary of Hyosung Group, will supply high-efficiency cooling pumps for SK Telecom’s (SKT) artificial intelligence (AI) data center in Ulsan. The pumps reduce power consumption by regulating the circulation of cooling water used to dissipate heat generated by servers.
The company has secured orders covering the Ulsan data center’s 100-megawatt (MW) capacity. With SKT planning to expand its domestic AI data center capacity to 15 gigawatts (GW) by 2035, Hyosung Goodsprings’ cooling pump shipments are expected to increase further.
According to industry sources on Nov. 4, Hyosung Goodsprings has secured contracts to supply sensorless inline pumps for both the 40MW first-phase facility (Building A) and the 60MW second-phase facility (Building B) at SKT’s Ulsan AI data center.
Sensorless inline pumps automatically adjust motor speeds according to server cooling loads. They operate at higher speeds when cooling demand increases and slow down when demand decreases. This eliminates the need to operate continuously at maximum output, reducing unnecessary power consumption. The pumps also control operating conditions without separate flow sensors, simplifying equipment configuration and maintenance. The integrated inverters are supplied by ABB, a Swedish-Swiss power technology company.
Hyosung Goodsprings has also added a total harmonic distortion (THD) monitoring function to its sensorless inline pumps. THD measures the extent to which an electrical waveform deviates from its normal shape. The function allows operators to monitor electrical conditions without separate measuring equipment, simplifying facility management.
The number of cooling pumps required increases with a data center’s power capacity. A 40MW data center typically requires about 20 to 30 pumps. Applying the same standard, SKT’s 100MW Ulsan data center would need more than 50 pumps. With a set of pumps for a 40MW facility costing approximately 1.5 billion won, the total supply value for the 100MW Ulsan data center is estimated at around 4 billion won.
AI data centers generate substantial heat by operating large numbers of servers equipped with high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs). Server overheating can degrade computing performance or cause equipment failures, making cooling systems essential.
Data center cooling systems operate by using cooling water to absorb heat generated by servers and release it outside the facility. Cooling pumps circulate the water through pipes and maintain the required flow rate. With cooling systems accounting for approximately 40% of a facility’s total energy consumption, pump efficiency plays an important role in reducing operating costs.
SKT plans to expand its domestic AI data center investments, starting with Ulsan. The company intends to establish AI data center clusters with capacities exceeding 2GW in the Yeongnam region and 1GW in the southwestern region, before gradually expanding domestic capacity to 5GW starting in 2029. Its goal is to reach 15GW by 2035. Applying the same cooling equipment requirements, the total demand for pumps could reach approximately 600 billion won.
Hyosung Goodsprings could see substantial revenue growth if it secures additional orders for SKT’s future data centers. The company’s revenue declined slightly to 230.1 billion won last year from 236.3 billion won a year earlier. Operating profit, however, increased approximately 48% to 20.9 billion won from 14.2 billion won over the same period.
Hyosung Goodsprings has also secured several domestic data center operators as customers beyond SKT. The company supplies cooling pumps to facilities including the 35MW Deogi-dong Internet Data Center (IDC) in Ilsan, the 80MW GPC IDC in Hwaseong, the 50MW TIMBUKTU IDC in Ansan and the 25MW Global Cloud Center (GCC) IDC in Ansan.
Hyosung Goodsprings is an unlisted, wholly owned subsidiary of Hyosung specializing in industrial pump manufacturing. In addition to cooling pumps for data centers, it produces large industrial pumps for oil refining, petrochemical facilities and power plants, as well as pumps for nuclear power plants. Major customers include ExxonMobil and Aramco.
