Samsung Electro-Mechanics CEO and President Chang Duck-hyun emphasized the company's growth opportunities arising from the expansion of the artificial intelligence (AI) server and data center markets in a message to employees.

Speaking at the company's 53rd anniversary ceremony held at its Suwon campus in Gyeonggi Province on Nov. 2, Chang told employees, "The global AI industry is only at January 1," adding, "We have been presented with unprecedented, large-scale growth opportunities across our core businesses, including multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) and package substrates."

"Let's demonstrate our ability to execute across all areas, including development, production, quality, safety and the environment, and turn these opportunities into tangible results," Chang said. He added, "AI technology is fundamentally redefining how people work. I encourage all employees to use their own specialized AI agents to streamline simple, repetitive tasks and focus on creative, high-value work."

The ceremony also included awards recognizing long-serving employees and winning teams from an internal AI hackathon. Samsung Electro-Mechanics recently held the hackathon to strengthen employees' ability to use AI. The company selected and awarded teams whose projects demonstrated strong potential for practical applications, including manufacturing process optimization and business process automation.
