OnePassApps 投票板逐項解析:API 顯示 12 個構想,頁面只列出 5 個

The OnePassApps Vote Board, Item by Item: 12 Ideas on the API, 5 on the Page

The OnePassApps Vote Board, Item by Item: 12 Ideas on the API, 5 on the Page

I work on OnePassApps, the team behind app.onepassapps.com, so I can open the board and read the machine-readable copy of it as well as the page.

A lot of "what should we build next" widgets are a form in a corner. The OnePassApps board is a full page with its own ballot, and it is backed by a public JSON endpoint - GET https://api.onepassapps.com/api/voting - that returns the entire board with statuses, ranks and vote counts.

Here is what each of the two surfaces actually returned on 4 November 2026.

What the API says

The endpoint answers with a data object holding items, a viewer block and a summary. The summary is the tidiest thing in it:

"summary": {
  "totalIdeas": 12,
  "totalVotes": 0,
  "eligibleIdeas": 9,
  "pendingIdeas": 2,
  "plannedIdeas": 1
}

Twelve ideas, nine of them eligible to receive a vote, two pending, one already planned, and not a single vote cast on any of them.

Each item carries id, title, description, status, voteCount, rank, rankChange, viewerHasVoted, submittedByViewer, votingOpen and createdAt. In order, with the rank the API gives them:

  1. CaptureDesk - eligible - "Turn screenshots and page clips into structured, editable docs you can revisit across projects."
  2. BriefBuilder - eligible - "Combine links, quotes, and notes into a one-page research brief ready to share or hand off."
  3. Rewrite Desk - eligible - "Paste rough notes and shape clean drafts with reusable voice and tone presets."
  4. Tab Triage Inbox - planned - "Clear tab overload in one pass: keep, park, or drop each link with a short note and next action."
  5. Changelog Radar - pending - "Follow release notes and changelogs across the tools you rely on in one focused feed."
  6. Prompt Lab - pending - "Version, compare, and reuse prompts across your ToolPass apps from one workspace."
  7. Exactly - eligible - "A focused writing studio for drafting, editing, listening back, and exporting local notes."
  8. Read Aloud - eligible - "A dedicated app for listening to supplied text with clear playback and reading controls."
  9. SubRadar - eligible - "Track recurring subscriptions in one place, spot overlapping AI tools, and get clear suggestions about what to cancel or keep."
  10. DumpList - eligible - "Turn a quick voice dump into structured tasks, due dates, and optional calendar blocks."
  11. NoteQuiz - eligible - "Turn a photo, handwritten page, or PDF into flashcards, a ten-question quiz, and a recap of what you keep missing."
  12. FiveMin - eligible - "Pick topics and creators, then get a concise daily briefing written in your tone and ready to play as audio."

Every one of them was created on the same day, a minute apart: the createdAt stamps run from 2026-07-20T09:00:00.000Z to 2026-07-20T09:11:00.000Z. That minute-by-minute spacing is what the board's own ordering rule refers to when it says the board is "TIED AT 0 VOTES · IN THE ORDER ADDED".

Two more details in the payload. rankChange is 0 on the first six items and null on the last six, and votingOpen is false on exactly one idea - Tab Triage Inbox, the one already marked planned. It is the only item in the list where voting is closed.

What a signed-out visitor is told

The same payload has a viewer block, and for someone who has not signed in it is blunt:

"viewer": {
  "authenticated": false,
  "planId": null,
  "planName": "Guest",
  "voteLimit": 0,
  "votesUsed": 0,
  "votesRemaining": 0,
  "overLimit": 0,
  "canSubmit": false
}

A guest gets no votes, no plan, and no right to put an idea on the board. canSubmit is false because submitting an idea is a Pro thing. The page says the same thing in English: "Sign in to vote for the ideas you’d use. Pro also lets you submit an app idea of your own."

The page shows five of the twelve

Here is the part I did not expect. I loaded app.onepassapps.com/voting in a browser and read the rendered DOM, and the page renders five cards - not twelve - with a counter that reads "5 ideas".

The five are the last five in the API's own ordering: ReadAloud, SubRadar, DumpList, NoteQuiz and FiveMin. The home page calls the same block "IDEA DECK · FEATURED" and says "Five ideas in the running. Your vote shapes what we build." On the board itself the copy above the list reads "Choose the next app with the community. Vote for the ideas you’d use; the strongest support shapes what we build next." Above the cards it says "TIED AT 0 VOTES · IN THE ORDER ADDED" and "Ideas in the running", and under that, "Updates every 30 seconds".

So the API serves twelve ideas, nine of them eligible, and the public page renders five of them. I checked the network log while the page loaded: the browser's own request to api.onepassapps.com/api/voting returned all twelve items, and the page still drew five cards. The counter says "5 ideas" and the list agrees with it.

I am not going to guess at the reason, because I could not establish one from the outside and I would rather say what I measured than invent a mechanism. What I can tell you is that the two numbers disagree. The five on screen are a subset of the twelve on the wire: the seven missing from the page are the seven at the top of the API's ranking, and four of those seven are eligible to be voted on - CaptureDesk, BriefBuilder, Rewrite Desk and Exactly. The other three are Tab Triage Inbox (planned), Changelog Radar (pending) and Prompt Lab (pending).

Why the shape matters

If you are building anything on top of a public board like this, the useful move is to read the JSON, not the cards. The API gives you every idea, its status and its rank; the page gives you a curated five. For a vote widget that is the difference between a curated five on screen and the full ballot underneath - nine ideas live, two pending, one already in build.

If you want to see it for yourself, the board is at app.onepassapps.com/voting and the app guides are at app.onepassapps.com/guides. There is a "Request an app" button at the foot of the board for putting your own idea on it, and it says "Suggest an app idea. Once it has been reviewed it can join the vote."

Limits of this measurement

Everything here was measured on 4 November 2026, signed out, in one Chromium browser on Linux, with the JSON fetched over plain HTTPS from outside the browser. I read the board twice, at 14 seconds and again at 29 seconds after load, and got the same five cards and the same counter both times. I did not sign in, so I have not seen what an account holder sees, and I did not cast a vote, so I cannot tell you how a vote changes rank or rankChange - only that rankChange is currently 0 for the first six ideas and null for the rest. I did not work out why the page renders five rather than twelve, and I am not claiming to know.

I work on OnePassApps, the team behind app.onepassapps.com. Standard is free right now, with 100,000 credits every 30 days and no card required.
