我終於開始將 AI 融入工作
I’ve Finally Started Incorporating AI Into My Work ⭐
作者開始把 AI 用於工作,逐項記下工作上的挫折,並在 2 至 3 小時內大幅推進其中 4 項。近幾個月雲端 AI 編碼能力明顯提升,令他決定更有系統地運用 AI 完成手頭項目。
As I've struggled to get RTX Spark to do anything meaningful with local AI, I've found myself repeatedly turning to cloud-based AI to prove to myself that the issues I was having were tied to local AI and not just AI in general. This has been instructive. Earlier this year, I used Clairvoyance and Anthropic Claude to complete the WinUIpad programming project that had consumed me for the better part of a year, and given all the time I had wasted on that, I needed a break from coding. But it's clear that (cloud) AI coding has improved dramatically in just the past several months and to the point where it's turned the promise of vibe-coding, once a misunderstood term, into something real.
Tied to this, it's been an interesting few months of listening to my wife explain to me how she's integrated AI into her workflow in ever more effective and impressive ways. Here in Mexico, those chats often occur walking to or from, or during, lunch or some other meal. And each time, I wonder to myself how Stephanie, who's smart but not interested in technology, has gone so far past me in this way. I'm not against AI per se, though I will never use it for writing, but I've struggled to figure out ways I could use AI to save me time and money. A failure of imagination, mostly.
Anyway, at lunch today, she was telling me how she was working on a Spanish language tutor app using Google Gemini. My knee jerk reaction was something like, great, here we go again. But then I realized that I needed to step it up. There are all kinds of projects I'm working on that are in partial states of completion, and so many things I want to complete before we leave here and before the end of the year. Perhaps I need to be more methodical about this.
I mentioned this to her, albeit with a few more specifics, as at least one of the projects that's on my plate is on hers as well, tied to some updates we both want to make to the book. And then I decided to start writing down all the little frustrations and see whether I couldn't knock them down one by one using AI.
And I made a lot of headway of four of them over the course of two or three hours this after. I wish I was always this productive. The first two are coding-related, but also not really.
Coding: Native Markdown editor for Windows
As you may know, I'm working on a short Markdown book, and while I originally thought that I would bang this thing out in under a month, I've run into my usual perfectionism issues and keep identifying little problems I want to solve before I finish individual chapters. There's a lot that goes into that, but as I've worked on the book, I've often thought about the issues with Markdown and its many flavors, or variants, and how to document this thing that is really many things. One of those issues is whatever list of Markdown editors I can recommend to readers, but I've had this notion of creating my own Markdown editor, too. And of course I've wondered about just making this eventual...
