ElevenLabs Starter 與 Creator:腳本及自動化配音的點數預算指南
ElevenLabs Starter or Creator? Budgeting Credits for Scripted and Automated Voiceovers

If you generate voiceovers from scripts, whether by hand in the ElevenLabs UI or from a small pipeline that turns Markdown into narration, the plan question comes down to one thing: how many characters you push through each month. The two plans most people end up choosing between are Starter and Creator. Here's how I size them, using only the numbers on the official pricing page.
All figures below were checked on elevenlabs.io/pricing on October 26, 2026. Prices are in USD, exclude taxes, and ElevenLabs changes plans often, so confirm on the live page before you buy.

If you're scripting batch jobs, notice the last row. Concurrent requests go from 2 on Free to 3 on Starter and 5 on Creator. That caps how many generations you can run in parallel, so a queue that fans out lots of short clips will behave differently on each plan.
Turning a script into a credit budget
Text to speech costs roughly 1 credit per character with the standard multilingual models. English averages around 6 characters per word including spaces, so:
- 1,000 words ≈ 6,000 credits
- A 60-second Short (~150 words) ≈ 900 credits
- A 10-minute voiceover (~1,500 words) ≈ 9,000 credits
Since the unit is characters, you don't have to guess. Count what you're about to send:
# characters in a script file (roughly = credits for standard TTS)
wc -m script.txt
# total for a folder of scripts you plan to render this month
cat scripts/*.txt | wc -m
Or in a Node pipeline, before you call the API:
const chars = text.length; // ~1 credit per character
console.log(`~${chars} credits for this render`);
Strip anything you don't want spoken (Markdown syntax, stage notes) before counting, and leave headroom for retakes. In practice a script rarely goes out in one take.
At those rates, Starter covers about three 10-minute videos a month before retakes. Creator covers about thirteen. Dubbing is a different story: it runs 2,000–10,000 credits per minute, so if dubbing is part of your pipeline, budget for it separately.
Rollover rules worth knowing
Paid-plan credits roll over for up to two months (up to 3x your monthly quota) as long as you stay subscribed. Downgrading or cancelling forfeits them at the end of the cycle. Free-plan credits don't roll over. So a lumpy workload (a big batch one month, a quiet one the next) is less painful than it looks, as long as you don't cancel between batches.
What Starter gives you
Starter is the cheapest plan with a commercial license, and that's the main reason most creators upgrade. You also get Instant Voice Cloning (a quick clone from a short sample), 20 Studio projects, Dubbing Studio, and commercial use of Music. The limit is credits: 30,000 a month, about 30 minutes of speech by ElevenLabs' estimate.
It fits if you:
- publish a few Shorts or one or two short videos a month
- use stock voices or an instant clone
- need to stay legal on monetized content without a big monthly bill
What Creator adds
Creator gives you roughly four times the credits (121,000, about 121 minutes). It adds Professional Voice Cloning, ElevenLabs' higher-fidelity clone trained on more of your audio, and lets you buy additional credits when you run out. For an automated pipeline, that last part matters: hitting the quota mid-month doesn't have to stop your jobs.
It fits if you:
- publish weekly long-form narration (a 10-minute script is often 8,000–9,500 credits)
- want a cloned voice that sounds like you across a whole channel
- also use dubbing, sound effects or music, which draw from the same credit pool
When Free stops being enough
The Free plan (10,000 credits, about 10 minutes) is fine for auditioning voices and testing your integration. Move off it when any of these is true:
- You're shipping something commercial. Monetized YouTube, client work, ads or paid courses need a paid plan's commercial license.
- You run out mid-month. Ten minutes goes quickly once retakes are counted.
- You want voice cloning. Instant Voice Cloning starts at Starter, Professional Voice Cloning at Creator.
My rule for picking
- Under ~30 minutes of narration a month and no pro clone needed: Starter.
- More than ~30 minutes a month, or you want Professional Voice Cloning: Creator.
- Not sure yet: start on Starter monthly. Upgrading carries unused credits forward, so moving up later doesn't waste what you've already paid for.
- Committed for the year: annual billing is 12 months for the price of 10 ($5/month for Starter, $18.33/month for Creator).
Run wc -m on last month's scripts, add a buffer for retakes, and the choice usually makes itself.
