WISE iTech, an artificial intelligence (AI) and data specialist, has entered the YouTube content analytics market. The company plans to apply its expertise in providing data analytics solutions to businesses and public institutions to YouTube data. Starting with a subscription-based service, it aims to eventually expand into advertising by connecting advertisers with content creators.

"We have been analyzing data for institutions and businesses, but our presence in media platforms has been limited," said Kim Da-san, CEO of WISE iTech, explaining the launch of its YouTube AI analytics service, Tumeet, at a press conference held at voco Seoul Myeongdong in central Seoul on Oct. 27.

The company is focusing on the vast amount of data accumulated on YouTube. Channel operators can access various statistics, including views, subscriber counts and watch time. However, WISE iTech says translating those figures into practical content planning and operational strategies remains difficult.

"With sufficient data already accumulated in the content industry, what matters is understanding market trends alongside the performance of one's own channel, identifying meaningful insights and turning them into the next course of action," Kim emphasized.

Tumeet, unveiled at the event, analyzes both YouTube market trends and individual channel performance. The service provides data to help creators determine their next content strategy by examining why certain videos attract attention and how viewers respond.

Tumeet analyzes YouTube content and channel data daily, providing 100 trending keywords across 13 categories. Users can track changes in interest for each keyword and explore related videos and associated search terms.

When users connect their YouTube channels, the service analyzes key performance indicators, including views, subscriber counts and watch time. It also identifies viewer acquisition sources, search terms and geographic distribution, while allowing users to compare their performance with similar channels.

"One of Tumeet's key features is its ability to connect market data with data from your own channel," said Park Ye-sil, a researcher at WISE iTech, during the presentation.

The company also introduced Tumeet PD, an AI-powered channel management tool. It recommends video titles, descriptions and tags designed to improve search visibility and analyzes recurring viewer requests in comments, helping creators identify topics for future videos.

The service also automatically organizes data that channel operators need to monitor daily. It sends notifications about key performance indicators and rapidly rising keywords through KakaoTalk's notification messaging service and provides a report analyzing the previous month's performance on the fifth day of each month.

The company also presented results achieved through an actual YouTube channel.

WISE iTech signed a memorandum of understanding with Quan Entertainment in July and deployed Tumeet on Haha PD, a YouTube channel with 1.17 million subscribers.

Entertainer Haha and Quan Entertainment producer Park Shin-woo, who attended the press conference, shared examples of how they had used data in managing the channel.

"We made decisions based on data rather than intuition," Park said, describing how the content planning process had changed.

One example was the "Expedition" series. Although the series initially attracted little attention, viewer engagement, including views and comments, increased over time. The production team identified the change through Tumeet's notification function and incorporated the findings into subsequent content production.

WISE iTech plans to use Tumeet to diversify its business structure, which has traditionally focused on business-to-business (B2B) customers.

The company will initially concentrate on acquiring users. WISE iTech has set a target of securing 500 paying customers and a total of 1,000 users, including free users, by early 2027.

Over the longer term, the company plans to pursue a product placement (PPL) matching business connecting advertisers with YouTubers. The service would analyze each channel's audience characteristics, primary interests and content performance to help advertisers identify suitable creators.

The strategy is intended to generate advertising-related revenue in addition to subscription fees for its data analytics service. The advertising matching business remains at the conceptual stage.

WISE iTech will initially focus on South Korea's YouTube market and enhance its analytics capabilities for Korean-language content. It is also considering expanding the service to other social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram.

"We will enable anyone to use data as a basis for decisions in content planning and channel management, and drive changes in the data-driven content market," Kim said.
