The PyTorch Foundation, the vendor-neutral home for the open source intelligence layer, is announcing today that Nebius has joined as a Platinum member.

Nebius, the AI cloud company, is building the full-stack platform for developers and companies to take charge of their AI future – from data and model training to production deployment. Founded on deep in-house technological expertise and operating at scale with a rapidly expanding global footprint, Nebius serves startups and enterprises building AI products, agents and services worldwide. Startups and enterprises are using PyTorch to train and fine-tune models at scale on Nebius AI Cloud. Nebius has also long supported vLLM with compute for development, testing, and benchmarking, including multi-node work on large models such as DeepSeek R1. Nebius’s Applied AI team contributes inference and post-training optimizations to open-source projects, and its open-source work has been incorporated into the PyTorch Ecosystem. As a platinum member, Nebius is granted one seat to the PyTorch Foundation Governing Board. The Board sets policy through our bylaws, mission and vision statements, describing the overarching scope of foundation initiatives, technical vision, and direction.

We’re happy to welcome Ryan Hanrui Wang, Senior Vice President, Applied AI, Nebius, to our board. Ryan Hanrui Wang is SVP, Applied AI at Nebius, where he leads inference, post-training, and agentic systems. He previously co-founded and served as CEO of Eigen AI, acquired by Nebius in 2026. Ryan holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from MIT, where he created the SpAtten sparse-attention framework and Hardware-Aware Transformers; his open-source work has passed one million downloads and is part of the PyTorch Ecosystem. He is an MIT Technology Review Innovator Under 35. Ryan will also serve as Nebius’ representative on the Technical Advisory Council (TAC).
