LS Electric posted record quarterly earnings, driven by growing demand for extra-high-voltage transformers. The company also recorded its 100th consecutive quarter of operating profit, a streak dating back to the fourth quarter of 2001.

LS Electric said on Oct. 21 that third-quarter revenue reached 1.8778 trillion won, while operating profit totaled 233.5 billion won, up 54.4% and 131.7%, respectively, from a year earlier.

Growth was driven by rising demand for power infrastructure in North America. Revenue from switchgear, a core product, increased 120% year on year, while extra-high-voltage transformer revenue rose 106%. Revenue from power distribution equipment also grew 32%.

North American revenue reached approximately 500 billion won, up 25% from the previous quarter and setting a new record. Revenue from the company's Spanish and Middle Eastern subsidiaries increased 120% and 61%, respectively, from a year earlier.

LS Electric is expanding investment in its production facilities in Utah and Texas. The company plans to increase local manufacturing capacity to meet demand from AI data centers and power grid investments.

New orders totaled approximately 1.6 trillion won in the third quarter, while the order backlog stood at about 7 trillion won at the end of the quarter.
