Soosan INT is expanding its security solutions business for analyzing encrypted network communications through a partnership with US-based cPacket Networks.

The companies said on Oct. 15 that they had formed a strategic technology partnership to jointly supply solutions in global markets.

The partnership combines Soosan INT's encrypted traffic decryption technology with cPacket's network visibility and analytics capabilities.

Data transmitted across corporate networks is often encrypted to prevent unauthorized access to its contents. However, encryption also makes it difficult for security equipment to inspect the data, limiting its ability to analyze malware commands and signs of intrusion.

Soosan INT decrypts encrypted traffic so that security equipment can inspect its contents. cPacket then collects and stores the decrypted data for AI-based analysis. By integrating these processes, the companies aim to help security teams detect network threats and identify the causes of security breaches.

Soosan INT's ePrism SSL VA is an SSL visibility solution that decrypts encrypted Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) communications. It distributes decrypted traffic simultaneously to multiple security devices, allowing them to use existing infrastructure without performing decryption separately.

cPacket handles the collection, distribution and analysis of decrypted data. Its cVu packet broker forwards decrypted traffic to security devices for tasks such as malware detection. The cStor appliance stores the data and converts it into session-level analytical information. cPacket's AI analytics capabilities then use the collected data to support threat detection, root-cause investigations and incident response.

The companies plan to use the partnership to expand their overseas business by combining encrypted traffic decryption technology with AI-based network analytics.
