I built my own Spotlight alternative without knowing Swift. There were a few things about Spotlight that bothered me, along with some macOS utilities I wished I had in one place. So I decided to try something different. Using AI and a little vibe coding, I built Lilith — an open-source macOS launcher tailored to my own needs. I described what I wanted, tried the results, gave feedback, and kept iterating until I had something I was happy with. I didn't write the Swift code myself, but it was interesting to see how far I could take an idea simply by knowing what I wanted to build.
