GitHub 更新程式碼覆蓋率上傳流程,Copilot 動態工作流程開放公開預覽

💥 Main Branch: The One Where Your Coverage Check Was Lying

Hiya friends,

We are now in October. I spent the weekend putting up my Halloween decorations. Even though I live in Florida, and it's always a thousand degrees, I truly love the fall.

This is my favorite time; it's my busiest time also. Getting ready for GitHub Universe, and this year is going to be very special. I have something super important to share with all of you. Hopefully I'll be able to share it by next week. Let's get into what shipped.

🚢 What Shipped

Code coverage uploads no longer fail CI for new branches

upload-code-coverage used to fail the job if you pushed a branch before the PR existed. The API wanted a PR number. There wasn’t one. Now it skips the upload and says so. Default branch and PR events still upload. If you only run on push, coverage waits for the next push after the PR opens. Add a pull_request trigger if you want it sooner. Team and Enterprise Cloud, including data residency. Not Enterprise Server.

Dynamic workflows in Copilot CLI and the Copilot app

Public preview, every Copilot plan, in the app, the CLI, and the SDK. You write the steps in code inside a Copilot extension, including what runs in parallel and when an agent gets a turn. /fleet still hands work off. This runs the process you wrote. The app needs no setup. In the CLI, /experimental on (or --experimental), and /update if you’re behind. Ask Copilot to write one, or ask what you already have.

📖 What I'm Reading

A warning about ‘model welfare’

Mustafa Suleyman’s write up, quoting Anthropic’s January 2026 Claude constitution, including the line that Claude’s moral status is “live enough to warrant caution,” and the Opus 3 retirement interview. His three objections are circular reasoning, anthropomorphism, and the view that consciousness is biological. I’m with him on this one. I can’t believe we’re assigning biology to something artificial.

Worth your time if you’re wondering what’s going on in the frontier labs. Some of them seem to have watched Westworld and thought it was a documentary.

🔧 What I'm Using

HydraFusion. GitHub didn’t invent single, cascade, or critique. You already run those by hand. HydraFusion is the shortcut, it picks the pattern from your prompt and routes the work. In my Checkout episode with Julia Kasper she showed: 84.8 AIU (AI Units) vs 146.5 solo Opus 5 and 159 solo Fable 5.1. Now that it is available in the app, I’m having fun experimenting and comparing results with non-HydraFusion sessions.

✨ This Week

I'm prepping all the pieces that need to fall into place at the end of the month. So, busy week for me. Also, by the time you read this I’ll be getting ready to draw (well, ask Copilot to draw) the ticket giveaway winner. Last call to enter: gh.io/win.

See you next week!

With gratitude,

Andrea
