Meta has asked Citigroup and Morgan Stanley to hold investor calls for a bond sale in US dollars and euros, Bloomberg reports. It comes days after S&P cut Meta’s credit outlook and a week after a $35B share sale.
Meta is preparing to sell bonds in both US dollars and euros to help fund its AI spending, Bloomberg reported on Monday, citing a person familiar with the matter.
The company has asked Citigroup and Morgan Stanley to hold calls with investors on Monday and Tuesday. Meta may sell dollar bonds in five parts and euro notes in six parts. The size of the deal was not disclosed.
Reports in September said Meta was preparing to borrow in Europe’s bond market for the first time this autumn. US tech giants have been turning to euro debt to pay for their data centres. Alphabet began its own €6B euro sale on the same day, drawing more than €17B in orders.
The sale will test how much investors still want to lend to the AI build-out. On Friday, S&P turned negative on Meta’s AA- credit rating. It said Meta has fewer ways than its rivals to make money from AI.
Meta has been raising money from every direction. Last week it began a $35B share sale, and in April it sold $25B of bonds. It has also lined up $825B in commitments, mostly for AI infrastructure.
